Reading Time: 1 min read

The Battery Metals panel at 121 Mining & Energy Investment Singapore opened with a discussion on the looming shortage in the key battery metals which will be driving the energy transition and areas where our panellists see demand growing in this space. Looking at this growing supply deficit, the panel discusses where the financing is coming from to grow these spaces.

The panel looks at how the majors are influencing the exploration industry and if we’re seeing more joint ventures on this front.

The discussion shifts to looking at specific commodities such as lithium and nickel, the pricing moving forward and what it means for the industry and the impact on the electric vehicle space.

The panel closes with discussions on the future of recycling for this space and possible battery chemistry disruptors.

Panellists:
Joyce Zhang, Head of Business Development, Theme International Trading
Christopher Gale, Managing Director, Latin Resources
Allan Ray Restauro, Associate – Metals and Mining, BloombergNEF
Sing Yang Chiam, Director, Singapore Battery Consortium
Sean Samson, President & CEO, Director, EV Nickel
