Reading Time: 1 min read

Guest:
Ian Lange Director – Mineral & Energy Economics Program, Colorado School of Mines;
Former Senior Economist, Council of Economic Advisers, The White House

In this interview, Ian Lange breaks down what’s happening in current U.S. energy policy and provides insight into what he expects from the Biden administration as the focus on the energy transition grows.

First we look at the historical view on the energy policy – where we’ve been and where we’re going. Ian points to the permitting challenges as a major factor influencing the sector at present.

The interview also touches on the ways in which domestic supply chains are being strengthened in the U.S. and across other friendly jurisdictions, and the impact of geopolitics on the supply chains.

We look at the impact of the new infrastructure plan and what it means for the future outlook for the U.S. mining and metals industry, EVs, and more.
