The Assay TV is joined by Ahmed Al-Aqeel, Exploration Director, Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources, is a government body responsible for industrial and mineral resources sectors in Saudi Arabia.
Ahmed tells us that as a part of Vision 2030, a unique, transformative economic, cultural and social reform blueprint that is rapidly transforming KSA and opening the country up to the world, MIM has launched the Mining and Mining Industries Development Strategy which was developed around four key areas: KSA’s untapped minerals, high-potential geological assets, highly competitive legal and regulatory environment, building high-value integrated value chains and a focus on ESG to ensure care for individuals, communities, workers, and the environment.
Ahmed also explains that as a part of the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s mining sector, and by learning from other established courts, the Saudi Arabian Government has developed its own highly competitive mining court, based on three main factors; sustainability and ESG, transparency and compliance of the licence procedures, and providing incentives to attract the best exploration mining companies.
