Antam sets higher FY’18 production, sales targets across all commodities

8th March 2018
Data source: S&P Global Market Intelligence

PT Antam (Persero) Tbk. is aiming to produce and sell 26,000 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel in full-year 2018, 19% higher than the 21,762 tonnes and 21,813 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel produced and sold, respectively, for full-year 2017.

The 21,762 tonnes of nickel contained in ferronickel produced by the company last year was previously reported as an all-time high.

According to the company, the higher ferronickel production target is part of its strategy to increase the utilization of its ferronickel plant capacity to meet the optimum production level capacity of 27,000 tonnes.

Antam is also looking to book 101% and 228% higher production and sales for nickel ore, to 11.3 million wet tonnes and 9.3 million wet tonnes, respectively, compared to unaudited full-year 2017 results.

For gold, Antam is targeting 11% higher production and 81% higher sales, to 2,201 kilograms and 24,000 kilograms, while for bauxite, the company is targeting 126% higher production and 90% higher sales to 1.6 million wet tonnes for both figures.
