Unico Silver Limited (ASX: USL) has announced a significant intercept from its La Negra prospect at the Joaquin Project in Santa Cruz, Argentina, reporting 90m at 144g/t silver equivalent (AgEq) from just 10m depth in drill hole JDD017-25. The result includes high-grade intervals such as 4m at 718g/t AgEq and 6m at 559g/t AgEq, confirming broad, shallow mineralization over 1km southeast of the historical 2013 foreign estimate.
The hole, which ended in mineralization, is located 25m west and down-dip of a previous drill intercept, highlighting the growing scale of the system. La Negra mineralization now stretches over 2km of strike and remains open to the south and at depth.
This drill success supports Unico’s PLUS 150 strategy, aiming to define more than 150Moz of pit-constrained, free-milling silver equivalent across the Joaquin and Cerro Leon districts. With over 4,000m of assays still pending from the recently completed drill program, the company anticipates delivering a JORC-compliant mineral resource for Joaquin in Q3 2025.
Managing director Todd Williams called the intercept “a defining moment,” confirming that La Negra is “much larger than previously interpreted.” The result follows Unico’s 2024 acquisition of the Joaquin Project and adds to the 91Moz AgEq JORC resource already defined at nearby Cerro Leon.
