True North Copper (ASX:TNC) has announced promising assay results from the initial holes of its expanded Phase 2 drilling campaign at the wholly owned Mt Oxide Project, located 140km north of Mt Isa in Northwest Queensland.
Drilling along the Aquila Trend, a 1.3km mineralised corridor, has successfully extended the known copper-silver-cobalt system by 400m to the north, bringing the total strike length to over 500m. The results reinforce Mt Oxide’s potential as a large-scale, high-grade copper system with strong continuity and significant upside for further resource growth.
Key Results:
- 16 holes totalling 4,338m drilled across 900m of the Aquila Trend
- MOX251: 103m @ 0.53% Cu, 0.1% Co, 2.6 g/t Ag from 19m, including:
- 10m @ 1.76% Cu, 0.30% Co, 6.7 g/t Ag from 106m
- MOX252: 72m @ 0.55% Cu, 0.16% Co, 5.6 g/t Ag from 124m, including:
- 5m @ 1.68% Cu, 0.19% Co, 11.1 g/t Ag from 136m
- 5m @ 1.24% Cu, 0.37% Co, 10.3 g/t Ag from 185m
These intercepts build on earlier standout results from the Aquila Discovery, including:
- MOX232: 145m @ 0.75% Cu, 0.12% Co, 2.9 g/t Ag from 28m
- MOX233: 30m @ 2.45% Cu, 0.02% Co, 6.2 g/t Ag from 20m
- MOX231: 16m @ 1.25% Cu, 0.01% Co, 1.9 g/t Ag from 163m
The mineralised system remains open along strike and at depth, with the broader Mt Oxide Project showing district-scale potential across major structural corridors. These latest results provide a robust framework for targeting further extensions and deeper mineralisation, positioning True North Copper for continued exploration success.
