Sky Metals (ASX:SKY) has had a strong start to their RC drilling campaign at the Tallebung Tin Project in NSW, Australia. The latest announcement notes that they have intersected shallow, high-grade tin at the first three holes of the major reverse circulation (RC) drilling programme that began last month.
Some of the main results include:
- TBRC118: 6m @ 1.01% tin from 52m, including:
2m @ 2.54% tin from 54m - TBRC116: 13m @ 0.33% tin from 70m, including:
5m @ 0.74% tin from 76m - TBRC117: 2m @ 1.10% tin from 69m
These holes have expanded the newly discovered zone of high-grade tin that was intersected last year, south of the current MRE: TBRC078: 11m at 1.02% Sn from 54m. It is important to note as well that Tallebung ore sorting variability studies completed last year showed the potential for a significant and consistent upgrade of high-grade tin mineralization: TBD006 (25-35m): – 1.15% tin upgraded 4.6x to 5.31% tin with 99% recovery of tin.
Sky Metals expects additional results to come through over the coming months as the current drill programme will continue to target more shallow extensions and in-fills the existing Tallebung MRE. With the success of recent drilling, the current RC programme has more than doubled in size, with the addition of around 80 more RC holes. In total over 100 holes have been permitted ready for drilling.
Oliver Davies, Managing Director and CEO of Sky Metals commented on these results, “We have made a cracking start to the RC program, with shallow, high-grade tin returned in each of the first three holes. The initial drilling has expanded the high-grade zone immediately south of the MRE, adding substantial momentum to our current exploration program. The 2.54% tin intercept equates to over 8.5% Cu with the tin price 3-3.5x the copper price at current LME spot prices. This demonstrates the very high value of these intercepts and reinforces the strategic importance of the shallow extensions we are finding to the south and east of the current deposit. This is an exciting time for our shareholders as we begin to uncover the true potential of this extensive tin field.”
