Sarytogan Graphite Commences Drilling at Baynazar Copper

Sarytogan Graphite Limited (ASX:SGA) has begun an 1,800km KGK drill programma at the Baynazar Copper Exploration Project in Kazakhstan. The programme will be sampling the bedrock below quaternary cover and weathered rock in order to refine the Ilkin copper anomaly.

The Baynazar Copper Exploration Project was pegged by the company last year and exploration to date has included a high-resolution air mag survey and over 6,000 soil samples which identified the Ilkin, Aminbay, and Sanabi prospects. KGK drilling has been identified as the ideal low-cost drilling method needed to drill test the fresh bedrock below the quaternary cover. Two drill lines have been designed to cross the alluvial valley with 10-30m deep drill holes spaced 10m adjacent to the trench and then progressively stepping out to 20m and 50m spacing along the drill lines.

The company also provided some overall company updates, noting that the private placement to Dias Sarsenov, previously announced on 19 August 2025, is progressing well and they are awaiting final approval from the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction. Approval is expected in October this year and will allow for the balance of the A3.6M investment to be received. Of this private placement, a deposit of A$180,000 has already been received.

Finally, preparations to award the engineering contract for the DFS are underway for the Sarytogan Graphite Project as well, with a mid-2026 completion date in place.

Sean Gregory, Managing Director of Sarytogan Graphite Limited commented, “The Ilkin Prospect at Baynazar has now progressed to the exciting drilling stage. The KGK drilling is a lower cost method designed to penetrate through shallow cover to tag the debrock and refine the target for future deeper diamond drilling. Meanwhile, the DFS engineering contract for our flagship Sarytogan Graphite Project is being prepared for award, boosted by the recently announced private placement.”
