Sarytogan Drills High-Grade Results At Central Graphite Zone In Kazakhstan

Sarytogan Graphite Limited (ASX: SGA) has obtained further high-grade drilling results from the Sarytogan Graphite Deposit in Central Kazakhstan.

Highlights

• Thick high-grade graphite intercepts returned in fourteen diamond drill holes from the Central Graphite Zone (CGZ) in a previously sparsely drilled area of the 209Mt @ 28.5% TGC Inferred Mineral Resource. Significant intercepts above 30% TGC or thicker than 60m include:

o 22.9m @ 30.1% TGC from 16.2m incl. 5.1m @ 35.5% in ST-73

o 25.1m @ 34.0% TGC from 17.9m incl. 17.9m @ 37.1% in ST-74

o 69.6m @ 25.5% TGC from 20.2m incl. 4.7m @ 37.7% in ST-77

o 15.9m @ 32.1% TGC from surface incl. 10.0m @ 38.1% in ST-78

o 25.4m @ 33.2% TGC from surface incl. 5.0m @ 36.6% and incl. 16.3m @ 36.4%

in ST-79

o 26.4m @ 34.2% TGC from surface incl. 12.4m @ 37.8% and incl. 11.4m @ 35.3%

in ST-82A

o 20.1m @ 33.4% TGC from surface incl. 8.4m @ 36.4% and incl. 9.2m @ 36.5%

in ST-82

o 74.1m @ 29.1% TGC from surface incl. 13.6m @ 36.3% ST-83

• The results are typically higher-grade than the Mineral Resource as hypothesised by the observation of stronger metamorphism in this area.

• Drilling is on track to be completed later this month to enable an updated Mineral Resource Estimate in Q1 2023.

• Metallurgical test work optimisation is continuing at labs in Australia and Germany.

“The drilling results from the Sarytogan Graphite Deposit are continuing to impress and confirm Sarytogan’s status as a giant and exceptionally high-grade deposit,” Managing Director, Sean Gregory, said.

“The drilling is nearing completion as planned and we are on track for a Mineral Resource upgrade in Q1 2023. This together with the metallurgical test work optimisation underway in Germany and Australia will inform a Scoping Study planned for 2023.”

Stronger metamorphism confirmed as effective targeting tool

Drilling has now successfully targeted the higher-grade graphite mineralisation associated with the stronger metamorphism, observed in outcrop within the CGZ. This is a previously sparsely drilled area within the 209Mt @ 28.5% TGC Inferred Mineral Resource

Next Steps

Drilling

The 2022 drilling campaign is nearing completion. Results will continue to flow over the coming weeks. This will enable the Mineral Resource Estimate to be updated in Q1 2023, targeting some areas for reporting at the higher Indicated Mineral Resource classification.

Metallurgy

Metallurgical test-work optimisation at laboratories in Australia and Germany is underway targeting continued progress towards our targeted battery anode specifications. Results will be reported to the market progressively as they become available.
