Resource Mining Corporation (ASX: RMI) has launched a 1,000m rotary air blast (RAB) drilling programme at its Mpanda copper-gold project in western Tanzania. The initial work targets the Stalike and Kabungu prospects within the 1,056 km² project area.
The drilling is designed to reach fresh rock, with holes planned to depths of up to 40m at Stalike and 30m at Kabungu. Samples will be collected at one-metre intervals and composited for multi-element assay testing.
RMI is positioning the campaign as the first step in a broader exploration strategy across the Mpanda tenements, where historical workings suggest potential mineralization at depth. The company has also reported growing third-party interest in the project, alongside renewed focus on its Tanzanian nickel portfolio.
In addition to Mpanda, RMI is advancing a range of critical mineral projects across Tanzania and Finland, including lithium exploration at its Hirvikallio and Kola projects.
