Osisko Metals Incorporated (TSX: OM; OTCQX: OMZNF; FRANKFURT: 0B51) has reported new drill results from its Gaspé Copper Project in Eastern Québec, highlighting significant infill and expansion intercepts that could upgrade resources and extend the deposit in the next mineral resource estimate (MRE).
The latest campaign includes 35 mineralized intercepts from ten drill holes, targeting areas within and beyond the 2024 MRE model. Infill drilling aims to convert inferred resources to measured or indicated categories, while expansion drilling tests extensions outside the current model.
Key Highlights
- DDH 30-1128: 330.6 metres averaging 0.46% Cu (0.49% CuEq – expansion)
- DDH 30-1115: 33.0 metres averaging 1.28% Cu (1.36% CuEq – expansion)
- DDH 30-1117: 779.0 metres averaging 0.26% Cu (0.34% CuEq – infill and expansion)
- DDH 30-1118: 555.9 metres averaging 0.20% Cu (0.26% CuEq – infill)
- DDH 30-1123: 313.5 metres averaging 0.23% Cu (0.28% CuEq – infill and expansion) and 220.5 metres averaging 0.20% Cu (0.30% CuEq – expansion)
- DDH 30-1125: 293.0 metres averaging 0.23% Cu (0.30% CuEq – expansion)
- DDH 30-1126: 804.0 metres averaging 0.24% Cu (0.31% CuEq – infill and expansion)
- DDH 30-1130: 347.7 metres averaging 0.24% Cu (0.29% CuEq – infill)
- DDH 30-1131: 714.0 metres averaging 0.21% Cu (0.27% CuEq – both)
From 2022 to 2024, Osisko Metals focused on defining open-pit resources within Copper Mountain stockwork mineralization. Extending the resource model south into poorly drilled prograde skarn/porcellanite zones significantly increased resources, mostly in the Inferred category.
The current drill program aims to:
- Convert the November 2024 MRE to Measured and Indicated categories
- Test deeper stratigraphic extensions and lateral growth to the south and southwest toward Needle East and Needle Mountain
The November 2024 MRE was limited at depth to the base of the L1 skarn horizon (C Zone). All intersections below this horizon represent potential depth extensions to be included in the next scheduled MRE update in Q1 2026.
