Millennial Potash Corp. (TSXV: MLP) announced promising results from drillhole BA-001-EXT at its flagship Banio Potash Project in Gabon. The hole intersected a substantial 220.25m of potash mineralization, including 112.46m of high-grade carnallitite seams averaging 15.9% KCl, based on a 13% cut-off.
This new data significantly exceeds previous results from nearby drillholes BA-002-EXT and BA-003, which showed cumulative potash seams of approximately 70m. The mineralized zones in BA-001-EXT span Evaporite Cycles II to VII, confirming strong geological continuity and extending the known strike length of potash mineralization to approximately 4km.
The drillhole was extended to a depth of 678ms, revealing additional evaporite cycles and thicker potash beds, particularly in Cycle VII. These findings suggest potential for a substantial increase in the project’s resource base, which currently includes an Indicated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 657Mt grading 15.9% KCl and an Inferred MRE of 1.159Bt grading 16% KCl.
Samples from BA-001-EXT have been submitted to the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) for detailed analysis. The company is also awaiting results from drillhole BA-004, which may further extend the mineralized strike length and support future resource upgrades.
