International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6; FWB:H99) is making strong progress toward establishing Europe’s newest independent supply of expandable graphite, with a major milestone reached through a process technology collaboration.
Key developments include:
- Technology Agreement: A deal has been secured for the supply of proven processing IP and a commercial license, forming the foundation of the project’s feasibility study.
- Testwork Underway: Processing trials on various graphite concentrates have commenced, guiding feedstock selection, facility design, and product specifications.
- Preferred Site Identified: The Bitterfeld industrial precinct in Germany has been endorsed as the preferred location, with site negotiations and design planning now in focus.
- Strong Market Interest: Engagement with European graphite supply chain players is helping shape product specs and inform marketing strategies.
This initiative positions International Graphite to play a pivotal role in Europe’s energy transition by delivering locally sourced, high-performance graphite materials.
Andrew Worland, Managing Director and CEO of International Graphite commented, “The building blocks to successful development are being put into place. Securing the process IP is critical to completing the facility design and operations. Our team and partners are recognised as global industry leaders with deep ties to the European graphite industry and markets. We are seeing enormous opportunities for value added graphite across Europe and North America and our strategy to develop processing operations in tandem with the Springdale Graphite Project in Western Australia offers a point of differentiation for graphite investors from the growing demand in industrial and energy storage markets.”
