Osisko Metals Incorporated (TSX: OM | OTCQX: OMZNF | FSE: 0B51) has released new drill results and additional re‑assay data from historical core at the Gaspé Copper Project in Québec, further expanding the scale of the mineralised system and confirming significant southern extensions ahead of the updated Mineral Resource Estimate due in late March.
The latest results include several long copper intercepts from infill and expansion drilling, as well as strong re‑assays from Noranda‑era holes located well south of the current 2024 MRE boundary. Osisko said these results continue to demonstrate that the Gaspé deposit remains open and laterally extensive, particularly to the south.
Drill hole 30‑1168 returned 694m averaging 0.31% copper (0.38% CuEq), one of the longest continuous intervals in the dataset. The standout southern extension hole, 30‑1177, collared 150m beyond the current resource limit, intersected 315m at 0.42% copper, including a high‑grade interval of 51m at 1.24% copper and 14.5g/t silver.
Re‑assayed historical holes delivered similarly encouraging results. Hole 30‑0888, located 625m south of the 2024 MRE model, returned 92.9m at 0.35% copper from surface, while hole 30‑0874 produced 59.8m at 0.28% copper. These results significantly expand the known footprint of the system beyond previously defined boundaries.
Additional results include:
- 30‑1167: 816.5m at 0.24% Cu (0.34% CuEq)
- 30‑1171: 756.5m at 0.27% Cu (0.35% CuEq)
- 30‑1162: 705.3m at 0.25% Cu (0.33% CuEq)
- 30‑1174: 690.0m at 0.24% Cu (0.35% CuEq)
- 30‑1166: 643.5m at 0.25% Cu (0.35% CuEq)
- 30‑1179: 574.5m at 0.37% Cu (0.47% CuEq)
Robert Wares, CEO of Osisko Metals, commented, “These new results include three holes for the Southern Extension, again demonstrating that the deposit is wide open to the south. Drill hole 30‑1177, located 150 metres south of the limit of the 2024 MRE model, intersected 315 metres averaging 0.42% Cu, including another high‑grade zone of 51 metres averaging 1.24% Cu. Re‑assaying of historical Noranda holes further to the south revealed more positive results. We look forward to the updated MRE on Gaspé Copper due to be released towards the end of March.”
The company noted that the combination of modern drilling and re‑assay work continues to support the potential for significant resource expansion at Gaspé, with consistent long intercepts, strong copper grades, and clear evidence of mineralisation extending well beyond previously modelled limits.
