Banyan Gold Corp. (TSXV: BYN | OTCQB: BYAGF) has delivered a significant update to the Mineral Resource Estimate at its AurMac Gold Project in Yukon, increasing both contained ounces and overall grade while advancing the project toward its maiden Preliminary Economic Assessment.
The updated resource incorporates 42,000 metres of drilling from 178 diamond holes across the Airstrip and Powerline deposits, resulting in a combined Indicated Resource of 3.64Moz gold at 0.68g/t and an Inferred Resource of 4.98Moz gold at 0.58g/t.
The update marks a substantial improvement on the previous estimate, with Indicated ounces increasing by 60% and overall grade rising by 8%, reflecting improved geological understanding and successful targeting of higher‑grade zones. At the Powerline deposit alone, Indicated resources now total 2.80Moz, representing a 68% increase alongside a higher grade.
Higher‑grade portions of the deposit also continue to grow, with a 0.55g/t cut‑off defining:
- 2.45Moz Indicated at 1.00g/t Au
- 2.72Moz Inferred at 0.96g/t Au
At a broader 0.25g/t cut‑off, AurMac demonstrates district‑scale potential exceeding 9.6Moz in Indicated and over 5.7Moz Inferred, reinforcing the project’s position as one of Canada’s large undeveloped gold systems.
The deposits remain open in all directions, particularly at depth, with Banyan’s 70,000m 2026 drill program already underway and over 21,000m completed to date. Ongoing drilling continues to target expansion, high‑grade domains, and improved resource confidence ahead of further studies.
Tara Christie, president and CEO of Banyan Gold, commented, “This updated material resource estimate represents an important milestone, with more ounces, more indicated ounces and improved overall grade across the deposit. AurMac continues to grow in scale, confidence and quality, supported by a refined geological model. With the resource update now complete, our focus turns to the upcoming Preliminary Economic Assessment, which will highlight the economic potential of the project.”
Banyan expects the updated resource to underpin its maiden Preliminary Economic Assessment, scheduled for release in the second half of 2026, with the enhanced grade profile and increased Indicated resource providing a strong foundation for economic evaluation.
