Western Gold Resources Limited (ASX: WGR) has executed Road User Agreements with Main Roads WA and the Shire of Wiluna, providing formal approval for haulage access along the Sandstone–Wiluna Road and the Goldfields Highway. The agreements mark an important milestone for advancing the Gold Duke Project toward production readiness.
The access arrangements cover construction, maintenance and operational requirements that will enable Western Gold Resources to haul ore to Wiluna Mining Corporation’s processing plant, located just 46km from the project. The company has also progressed the submission for its Application for Works with Main Roads WA, supporting the coordinated use of existing regional infrastructure.
Joint site inspections will be undertaken to ensure road conditions remain safe and suitable for haulage activities, with all operations to comply with Western Australian mining, transport and WHS legislation. The agreement also provides a cooperative framework for managing maintenance responsibilities and regulatory oversight.
Cullum Winn, managing director of Western Gold Resources, commented, “The Agreement reflects yet another key milestone for the Company and supports our planned activities moving forward to advance the Gold Duke Project. Establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with key stakeholders such as Main Roads WA and Shire of Wiluna is pivotal to our flagship Gold Duke Project.”
Western Gold Resources said the agreements provide strong support from both local and state government and will play a central role in streamlining logistics as the project moves toward development. The company continues to advance work across engineering, mine planning and permitting in preparation for future ore haulage.
