Sky Metals Limited (ASX: SKY) has reported accelerating approvals momentum and continued drilling success at its 100%‑owned Tallebung tin‑tungsten‑silver project in central New South Wales, as the project advances toward near‑term development.
The company has submitted a Scoping Report to formally initiate the NSW State Significant Development (SSD) approvals process, marking a key milestone that allows environmental, technical and permitting workstreams to progress in parallel. Sky Metals noted that consultant appointments and baseline studies are now well underway, with approvals activities tracking ahead of schedule.
An updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and Pre‑Feasibility Study (PFS) remain on track for release this quarter and will incorporate a substantially expanded drilling dataset generated over the past 18 months. More than 500 drill holes have now been completed at Tallebung, compared with just 115 holes in the current MRE, providing a strong foundation for improved resource confidence and scale.
Drilling continues to deliver shallow, high‑grade tin‑tungsten‑silver intercepts, reinforcing the project’s suitability for open‑pit development. Recent highlights include:
- TBRC377: 8m at 1.24% Sn, 0.18% W and 13.2g/t Ag, including 1m at 9.09% Sn
- TBRC336: 16m at 0.38% Sn and 37.4g/t Ag, including 4m at 1.38% Sn
- TBRC363: 13m at 0.26% Sn and 30.8g/t Ag
- TBD019: 14.95m at 0.32% Sn and 35.0g/t Ag
Oliver Davies, managing director and CEO of Sky Metals, commented, “This represents a significant step forward for Sky Metals, with the Tallebung Project advancing on both the approvals and technical fronts. The initiation of the NSW State Significant Development process is a key milestone as we position the project for near‑term development. At the same time, ongoing drilling continues to deliver shallow, high‑grade tin‑tungsten‑silver results that highlight the strength, continuity and scale of the Tallebung system. With more than 500 drill holes completed and further results expected shortly, we are well positioned for the upcoming updated Mineral Resource Estimate and Pre‑Feasibility Study.”
