Sky Metals Limited (ASX: SKY) has achieved a key milestone in advancing its Tallebung tin‑silver‑tungsten project, with the NSW Department of Planning issuing Planning Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
The issuance of SEARs formally moves Tallebung into the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) phase of the State Significant Development approvals process, marking a major step toward securing development consent. This progression provides a structured pathway for environmental, technical and permitting workstreams as the project advances.
Sky Metals has already completed substantial baseline studies, including environmental surveys, technical assessments and stakeholder engagement, allowing the company to move efficiently into the EIS phase and further de‑risk the project.
In parallel with approvals progress, drilling continues to strengthen the project’s resource base. Recent results highlight shallow, broad, high‑grade tin‑tungsten‑silver mineralisation, supporting potential for early access to higher‑grade material and improved project economics.
More than 500 drill holes have now been completed at Tallebung, with results to be incorporated into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and Pre‑Feasibility Study (PFS) expected in the coming weeks. Additional extensional drilling results remain pending, further supporting potential resource growth.
Oliver Davies, managing director and CEO of Sky Metals, commented, “The receipt of SEARs represents a key milestone for Tallebung and advances the project into the next stage of the NSW approvals process. With an updated Mineral Resource and Pre‑Feasibility Study imminent, Tallebung is progressing on multiple fronts, with approvals, resource growth and development studies converging to support its advancement toward near‑term production.”
