Sarytogan Graphite Commences Bulk Graphite Purification Trials in the US

Sarytogan Graphite Limited (ASX: SGA) has commenced bulk purification trials in the United States, marking a key step in advancing downstream processing for its Sarytogan Graphite Project.

Bulk samples of graphite concentrate have been delivered to American Energy Technologies Company (AETC) in Chicago, where plant‑scale testwork is now underway. The program will evaluate the performance of Sarytogan graphite across a full downstream processing pathway, including granulation, calcining, thermal purification, and spheronisation, followed by battery testing.

AETC previously supported testing that demonstrated strong performance of Sarytogan graphite in various industrial and high‑technology applications. The current program represents a scale‑up phase, producing larger volumes suitable for customer qualification.

The purified material will be used to manufacture 5Ah lithium‑ion pouch cells, with testing to be conducted at a European battery innovation centre. The resulting samples are expected to support engagement with potential customers, many of whom have already tested smaller quantities and are awaiting larger‑scale material.

Alongside downstream work, Sarytogan is progressing its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). The upstream component of the DFS is now nearing completion and is targeted for delivery in Q3 2026, providing a foundation for overall project development.

The company noted that downstream studies will follow, informed by the results of the current purification trials, helping to define the full value chain from concentrate production through to battery‑grade products.

Sarytogan continues to advance both upstream and downstream pathways in parallel, with the bulk trial program representing a key step toward commercial product qualification and market entry.
