Lahontan Gold Corp. (TSXV: LG; OTCQB: LGCXF; FSE: Y2F) reports that a Super 90 track-mounted core drill rig has been mobilized to the Company’s flagship Santa Fe Mine Project in Nevada’s Walker Lane.
The drilling program forms part of Lahontan’s ongoing mine development work and is designed to support state-level permitting. Core samples will be collected for waste-rock geochemical characterization, a key input to the mine permitting process. The drill holes will also help refine the Company’s understanding of groundwater distribution in the area proposed for future open-pit mining—another important element of permitting.
Kimberly Ann, Lahontan’s Executive Chair, President, CEO, and Founder, said the start of drilling marks a meaningful step forward in preparing for a return to open-pit mining and heap-leach processing at Santa Fe. She added that completing this work early in 2026 is intended to deliver the hydrologic and geochemical datasets needed to keep the project aligned with a targeted 2027 ground-breaking timeline.
