CopperCorp Resources Inc. (TSXV: CPER) has initiated its inaugural diamond drilling program at the Hydes Cu-Au prospect, situated within the company’s 100%-owned Razorback Cu-Au-REE Project in western Tasmania, Australia. This marks a significant milestone for CopperCorp as it steps out and begins to drill one of several untested exploration targets within this license.
The first drill hole, HDD001, targets a gravity high feature at depth below outcropping mineralization, where recent surface channel sampling returned 24m at 0.74% Cu and 0.36g/t Au, including 14m at 0.97% Cu and 0.56g/t Au.
Permitting approvals have been granted for up to six diamond drill holes totaling approximately 4,600m to test multiple coincident geophysical and geochemical anomalies at Hydes. An induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey is scheduled for mid-August to further refine drill targeting by mapping chargeability zones potentially associated with sulphide mineralization at depth.
The Hydes prospect is located approximately 15km south of the Mt Lyell copper-gold mining camp, which hosts 3Mt of contained copper and 3Moz of contained gold. The proximity to existing mining infrastructure enhances the project’s potential for future development.
