Altona Rare Earths Plc (LSE: REE) has announced encouraging assay results from its Monte Muambe Fluorite Zone in north-western Mozambique. The ore samples revealed an average content of 88.03% CaF₂ (calcium fluoride), surpassing typical metallurgical grade standards.
Cedric Simonet, CEO of Altona, commented, “I am very pleased with the latest developments for the Monte Muambe fluorspar project, which result in an updated scope including a higher-value product (acid-spar) and a higher-production capacity objective.”
The company is advancing metallurgical studies to optimize extraction and processing processes. It is also establishing partnerships with organizations in the mining processing sector to expedite production and ensure efficient operations.
