Awalé Resources is a gold exploration company focussed on the discovery of large high-grade deposits in the underexplored jurisdiction of Cote d’Ivoire. West Africa is now accepted as one of the world’s great gold provinces, and is the largest Paleoproterozoic gold producing region, with a near 10,000 tonne gold endowment. Cote d’Ivoire contains 33% of the prospective Birimian greenstone belts in west Africa, but less than 10% of total gold resources, making it an ideal location for new gold discoveries.

Awale Resources is a TSX-V-listed junior gold exploration company, focused on an economic discovery in West African Birimian Greenstone belts in Côte d’Ivoire. The company has strong first-mover advantage with a diversified, districtscale, permit portfolio. Awale operates in Africa as a subsidiary of Mariana Resources, whose experience and ability it is leveraging.
The Birimian of west Africa is now recognised as one the world’s premier gold provinces with an extensive gold endowment. Côte d’Ivoire forms 33% of known West African Birimian geology, but contains less than 10% of these known resources.
This represents an exciting opportunity for shareholders as Awale progresses through its exploration objectives for gold and discovery with economic scale. The company’s focus is on three strategic gold-anomalous project areas secured by five granted permits covering almost 2,000 sq km, with further applications in the pipeline.
Awale’s immediate focus is on the eastern border of Côte d’Ivoire at its Bondoukou project, with concessions that lie along the southwestern extension of the Birimian-age Bole-Nangodi greenstone belt in adjacent Ghana, host to a number of high-grade orogenic-type gold deposits. Artisanal miners are currently active at Bondoukou Est and are undertaking shallow mining – generally up to 30m depth – from highergrade quartz veins that lie within a broadly NWSE- trending mineralized corridor interpreted to have a strike extent of 18 km.
Awalé has advanced two of its district-scale projects. At Bondoukou it is progressing multiple prospect areas to drill-ready status, whilst continuing to further uncover new anomalies with its systematic exploration along defined mineralised structures. The Bondoukou Project is developing potential as a new gold camp in west Africa, with multiple targets over three main structural orientations. At Odienné, it has recently reported two exciting drill-ready targets at the Vakaba and Empire Prospects, with drilling commencing in October 2019.
The 2019/2020 field season will be an exciting period for Awalé as it systematically tests these targets with the stated objective of multiple discoveries.
