Company Overview
Orion Minerals Ltd is an ASX- and JSE-listed junior explorer transitioning to a mid-tier producer. The company holds copper-focused exploration and development assets in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province, including the Prieska Copper Zinc Mine and Flat Mines Project. Orion aims to commence production at Prieska by late 2027, targeting 22ktpa copper and 65ktpa zinc. With a strong ESG track record and advanced feasibility studies completed, Orion is positioned to responsibly supply critical minerals for the global energy transition.
Investment Case
We have a unique portfolio of assets at different stages of development that makes Orion Minerals a good near and long-term investment. Three strategic priorities drive our focus to deliver metals for tomorrow: Bringing our flagship Prieska Copper Zinc Mine (PCZM) (31Mt Mineral Resource) into production; optimising and drilling at Flat Mines in our Okiep Copper Project (OCP); and building a longer-term pipeline through further exploration.
Looking Ahead
We are in the final stages of closing a prepayment and offtake agreement with Glencore for US$250m to fund the development of PCZM. Concentrate production is expected 13 months after first drawdown. We are also advancing the optimisation of the DFS and resource extension drilling at the Flat Mines project, with an investment decision likely in the next 12 months.

John Paul Hunt – Executive: Exploration
John Paul Hunt is an economic and exploration geologist with 30 years of experience across five continents. He specializes in mineral systems frameworks and exploration for magmatic sulphide, sediment-hosted, and IOCG-type deposits. He is passionate about applying innovation and technology to improve exploration outcomes.
