The current market environment has brought a noticeable shift in how investors are approaching mining conferences.
With gold and silver at or near record levels, interest in the sector has broadened beyond traditional specialist funds. Generalist investors, family offices, and private capital are becoming more active, and importantly, they are engaging earlier in the cycle.
That change is starting to show up in real terms. At 121 conferences, meeting calendars are filling up faster, with many corporate schedules being largely booked out a week before the event even begins. We have also seen a meaningful increase in engagement, with meetings up 20%. The gap between the most engaged investors and the rest of the market is becoming more visible.
For companies, that means preparation and timing matter more than ever. For investors, it means being organised early is increasingly the difference between a full, productive schedule and missed opportunities.
At 121, this has been our main focus. Encouraging earlier engagement and improving the overall meeting experience is a priority as the events continue to grow.
Introducing the 121 Investor Advisory Board
We are introducing a small, invite-only Investor Advisory Board, with a focus on our London and New York events.
The goal is simple — work more closely with a group of highly engaged investors to help shape the events and ensure they continue to deliver value.
This will be a light-touch initiative, centred around:
- A short pre-event discussion
- A private roundtable during the event
- Ongoing feedback on investor experience.
What’s in it for investors?
Advisory Board members will benefit from:
Better access
Earlier visibility on attending companies and improved access to in-demand management teams.
Influence
The ability to shape how events are structured and how meetings are delivered.
Stronger networks
Access to a small group of highly active investors, with more meaningful interaction than is typically possible at larger conferences, including private, invite-only dinners and closed-door discussions.
Better meeting outcomes
More efficient scheduling, stronger matching with relevant companies, and direct support from the 121 team where needed.
Getting involved
The Advisory Board will remain small and curated, with initial members selected from highly engaged participants at our events.
If you are an active investor interested in being considered, we would welcome a conversation.
